MacServe Day of Service is an annual event run by the Student Success Centre that connects students with local community organizations in Hamilton and Mississauga. This year, in honour of McMaster's 125th anniversary, we're expanding the MacServe Day of Service to reach communities across Canada - with a little help from our alumni and friends.
On September 29, alumni in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa (as well as Hamilton and Mississauga) will join in and give back to their communities simultaneously, working together in celebration of the University and the memories we share as McMaster graduates.
Our community partners for the MacServe Day of Service are:
Vancouver: Lend a hand with tasks such as, planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting organically grown fruits and vegetables at The Sharing Farm, 2771 Westminster Highway. **A shuttle will be arranged from downtown or UBC if requested.**
Ottawa: Help
at a cricket workshop and welcome day to connect new immigrants and
refugees to the community through a common interest in sport and
physical activity with the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, Brewer Park, 100 Brewer Way, Baseball Diamond 1.
Toronto: Roll up your sleeves and help out at The Gateway, 107 Jarvis Street, painting rooms of the Men's Gateway Shelter. *FULL* Email Erin at oneilel@mcmaster.ca to be placed on waiting list.
Calgary: Come together to help The Mustard Seed, Bay 27, 4216 – 54 Avenue SE, by sorting donated clothing & hygiene items for distribution to the agency's shelter and downtown programs.
Hamilton and Mississauga: various locations to be announced. Register for these locations here.
